It was one of the most anticipated interviews in recent memory, and Rihanna didn’t hold anything back during her chat with Oprah Winfrey on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” last night (August 19).

The “Take A Bow” singer revisited her February 2009 beating at the hands of then-boyfriend Chris Brown, though she seemed to be more worried for him than herself.

Ri-Ri explained, “It was embarrassing, humiliating, hurtful. I lost my best friend. I was more concerned about him.” When Oprah asked where they stand today, Rihanna replied, “We have maintained a very close friendship ever since the restraining order was dropped.”

Winfrey followed with the good point, “You forgiving him does not mean that you are weak or that you are a victim,” to which the “Umbrella” hitmaker replied, “I think he was the love of my life.”
