Stepping out for some media duties, Rachel Weisz showed up at ABC Studios in New York City this morning (March 8).

The “Runaway Jury” actress was in the house to promote her new film “Oz the Great and Powerful” on “Good Morning America,” as it hits theaters today.

Regarding the comparisons to the original “Wizard of Oz” flick, Rachel explained, “I think the film is a love poem to the 1939 classic. No one felt like we were ‘taking it on’ in any way. It can be never touched. It will stand alone.”

Weisz also noted that scoring the gig was something she never thought would happen. “As a child in North London it never crossed my mind that I would ever be the Wicked Witch of the East in the Emerald City. I was kind of a tomboy climbing trees so it never crossed my mind.”
