A Coronation Street star’s leaving party descended into chaos after police were called to break up a brawl.

Actors from the soap were questioned on the scene at 1am this morning after a fight broke out at The Red Door Bar in Manchester.

Greater Manchester Police responded to reports of a man being assaulted at Oliver Farnworth’s leaving bash.

Actresses Lucy Fallon, and Katie McGlynn were spotted chatting to cops in the street – there is no suggestion they were involved.

Farnworth played Andy Carver after first starring in the show in November 2014 and could be seen wandering into his leaving party holding a giant cake.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed they rushed to the Deansgate bar at 12.55am and arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of assault.

He was later bailed pending further enquiries.

Coronation Street were unavailable for comment.

Farnworth, who plays Andy Carver in Corrie, is leaving to join Les Dennis in a production of Alan Bleasdale’s Down The Dock Road at Liverpool’s Royal Court theatre.

The show runs from March 11 to April 9 and Farnworth will be away from filming for seven weeks.

Farnworth’s character Andy was originally introduced as Gavin, the on-screen son of Dennis’s alter ego Michael Rodwell. However, Michael now knows that ‘Andy’ was an impostor.

A number of Corrie stars have opted to take breaks in 2016, although the impact on screen is likely to be minimal as they’ve been staggered across the year.
