The actor was shooting scenes in Cornwall for the BBC drama but an elderly fan was left in tears, according to a new report.

It’s one of the BBC favourites, with fans among the old and young, but Poldark has left an elderly fan in tears after the show’s heartthrob allegedly “lost it” on set as admirers tried to take pictures.

Aidan Turner, 33, was pictured on set in Cornwall shooting scenes for the drama and was allegedly left frustrated after hordes of fans tried to take photographs of him on set.

An elderly woman from Northampton, 72, was left crying after having travelled specifically to catch a glimpse of her favourite stars shooting scenes in Botallack Mine in Cornwall.

A source told MailOnline that a group of around 50 fans had congregated to watch the scenes being filmed, but were told by Turner’s security that he didn’t want pictures to be taken of him.

“A lot of his fans were trying to take pictures, and they weren’t that close to him,” a source told MailOnline.

“But he completely lost it, he flipped and was fuming. He said he had had enough of people taking photographs of him.

“He got security to stop fans taking pictures and people were upset as they had come down to see him.”

They claimed that the 72-year-old woman tried to snap a picture but security stopped her and she vowed never to watch the show again.

Aidan has proved a massive hit with the ladies ever since his infamous scything scene in the BBC drama.

The actor has previously said he has to “fight” to keep his clothes on in the TV adaptation, after his bare chest proved a ratings hit for the BBC .

Aidan said: “They were trying to make me take another dip in the sea this time, but it’s not in the books.

“It was in the books last time, but this time if it’s not in the books, I have a good fight not to do things.

“And I’m certainly fighting the cause to keep my clothes on for this one.”
