Stepping out for a positive, worldwide initiative, Naomi Watts and Aishwarya Rai were on hand for the Global Partnership Forum Women Leaders event in New York City on Monday (September 24).

Looking casually beautiful for The Yale Club hosted event, Miss Watts donned black dress pants and a grey blazer while Miss Rai, who is just recently easing back into the public eye after giving birth to her daughter last year, dressed up in a stunning lace enesemble.

Per the foundation’s website, the GPF aims to address economic and social challenges within a global forum through innovative partnerships.

In related charitable news, Aishwarya was just named the International Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).

Explaining why she’s perfect for the role, UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibe said, “Mrs. Rai Bachchan is respected and admired by millions of people around the world,” adding, “I am convinced that through her global outreach, Mrs. Rai Bachchan can help UNAIDS reach its goal of eliminating new HIV infections among children by 2015.”
