Being a female action star in Hollywood comes with lots of bonuses, but Jaimie Alexander recently realized all of the high flying fun is risky business, as well.

The 28-year-old took to her Twitter page to reveal that she had an accident on the set of next year’s “Thor: The Dark World,” writing, “Today I sustained a pretty horrible injury. I’m lucky I’m not paralyzed. Thank you (with all of my heart) to those who’ve looked after me.”

Although the work injury sounded to be quite dreadful, Jaimie – who plays Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) warrior goddess, Sif – later reassured her fans she is on the mend, tweeting, “Already in recovery mode and my spirits are high. I’ll be back kicking ass as Lady Sif in no time! It can only get better from here on out!”

Miss Alexander’s latest social media update also shows a positive road to recovery, as she wrote, “Received great news today! Meds are kicking in. Awesome funny nurses here at the hospital. Physio tomorrow. All good.”

Not impacting production schedule, “Thor: The Dark World” is still set to hit theaters on November 8, 2013.
