The only real-life “Twilight” relationship that anyone actually cares about is the off-screen romance allegedly brewing between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. And finally Kristen Stewart is coming clean…about how much she loves co-star Taylor Lautner…as a friend. Great. Really juicy stuff.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly for its Fall Movie Preview issue, Stewart says of Lautner, “I love that kid. I would do anything for him. I would kill for him, literally.” Relax, Kristen. It sounds like you’ve been spending a little too much time surrounded by werewolves and vampires. In real life, friendship isn’t quite that dramatic.

In fact, it was Kristen Stewart who put in the good word when Taylor Lautner almost wasn’t offered the opportunity to reprise his role of Jacob Black in “New Moon.” Producers weren’t sure he could gain enough weight or look old enough to look right for the part of Black in the upcoming installment of the “Twilight” franchise. On the topic of Taylor’s casting, Kristen Stewart said, “It’s completely understandable why they wanted to make sure he was right. He was so young, 16, so I got it. But I knew he had [to do] it. Just because of how I felt around him. I literally saw Jacob in him.”

Both Stewart and the film’s director Chris Weitz urged producers to bring back Lautner. And everyone’s championing of the actor – plus his own dedication to bulking up for the role – paid off.

In order to ensure that he was indeed right for the part, Lautner gained 30 pounds for “New Moon.” Said Lautner, “Now I’m a big bad wolf!” And luckily for Taylor, should some bigger, badder wolf rear its ugly head, he’s got Kristen Stewart to step in and kill for him. And we can’t speak for anyone else, but we certainly wouldn’t want to mess with that twitchy, chain-smoking, brooding, vampire-loving woman.
