Just 3 days after the news that Lindsay Lohan would be jump-starting her stalled career with a new reality show, it looks like Jessica Simpson is following suit. Reported today by the LA Times, after a year of shunning the spotlight, performing at Chili cook-offs and negatively affecting the career of her boyfriend, Tony Romo, it looks like Jess is finally ready for a comeback.

Premiering in 2010 on VH1, “The Price of Beauty” will feature Simpson traveling the world to “study local fashions” and discover the lengths women go to remain attractive. “When [I was approached] for a show about true beauty, I was immediately intrigued,” Simpson said today in a press release. “I have always believed that beauty comes from within and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure some women put on themselves to look perfect. I am really looking forward to discovering how beauty is perceived in different cultures, and participating in some of the crazy things people do to feel beautiful. I know we will all learn a lot on this journey.”

“[Jessica] has been the target of our obsession with beauty on both sides of the equation,” adds VH1 vice president of original programming, Jeff Olde. “She is a woman who can set trends and create firestorms with a single photo.”

Indeed, when even Barack Obama says you should lose a few pounds, probably a good idea to start researching weight loss. Good luck, Jess.
