Olympic gold medallist Helen Glover married wildlife presenter Steve Backshall on Saturday, posing for pictures on a coastal cove.

Fresh from her success in Rio – where her new husband was in tears watching her win gold in the women’s coxless pair rowing race – the 30-year-old beamed in her lace gown as the couple clambered over rocks to get the perfect picture.

The couple laughed and kissed as they clung on to each other, balanced on the rocks at Piskies Cove in West Cornwall.

One onlooker who spotted the loved-up couple from a public coastal path above said they looked “blissfully happy”.

The local said: “Helen looked stunning in that dress.

“They walked down to a headland above Piskies cove. It was sunny and warm.

“Steve took her hand and led her to the top of the cliff. We couldn’t believe where they were heading but the view out to sea was awesome.”
