HARRY POTTER star Emma Watson is heading to New York to further her education – the actress has reportedly enrolled at Columbia University under a false name. The star recently announced plans to take a break from acting to study English Literature and was reportedly offered places at a string of the world’s top institutions including America’s Yale and Harvard, as well as Britain’s Cambridge University.

And after a slew of media reports claiming she will be taking up a place in her native U.K., a respected British newspaper now reports the star has registered at New York’s Columbia. The Independent claims the actress has changed her name to avoid detection, enrolling as Charlotte E. Watson instead of Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson.

In a recent interview, Watson insisted she wanted to keep her student life as “private” as possible, telling Teen Vogue, “I probably sound like a paranoid nut, but I’m doing this because I want to be normal.”
