Cameron Diaz appears to have sparked a subject almost as widely debated these days as Roe v Wade!

To, have or to have, children.

Hollywood star, Miss Diaz, 36, has spoken out in support of woman who don’t want, and dont have children, basing her argument firstly on the fact that she believes there are already enough people on the planet and secondly that women are afraid to say they haven’t felt the need to procreate and have followed their careers instead.

Diaz told Cosmopolitan magazine: ‘I think women are afraid to say that they don’t want children because they’re going to get shunned. But I think that’s changing too now. I have more girlfriends who don’t have kids than those that do‘.

The star of My Sister’s Keeper, which hits theaters this month spoke to Cosmopolitan magazine after being cast as a mother to a daughter who is suffering from leukemia.

Not ruling out having children of her own at some stage, Cameron stated, ‘I never say never. I don’t know what’s going to happen. I could end up adopting half a dozen kids, or I could end up being the next “octomum”.’

But having publicly admitted that she has obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), is deeply germophobic, and habitually rubs doorknobs so hard before opening doors to clean them that the original paint fades afterwards and feeling the need to wash her hands and floors “many times” each day and uses her elbows to push open doors, maybe diapers, baby sick and general pregnancy wouldn’t be for Diaz anyway!

The full interview appears in the July issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, on sale tomorrow.
