Amy Winehouse and Blake given quickie divorce today

Theirs was a quickie marriage – 26 months in total – so it is entirely appropriate that Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil will today be granted a quickie divorce, with a decree nisi being issued at the High Court.

The couple will then wait six weeks and one day before they will have a decree absolute and the whole torrid affair will be history.

Amy’s spokesman told the Mirror: “She is ready to move on following the end of the marriage. She has not had any contact with Blake for months and is focusing on the future. She’s finishing off her album and in good health.”

After meeting in 2005 (in a pub – obv) the couple had a turbulent relationship marred by heavy drug use and often-bloody, public rows.

While they regularly fell out and got back together, Blake’s incarceration for assault and perverting the course of justice proved their biggest hurdle and although Amy stood by her man for a time, the separation proved too much for them.

Blake, who will lay claim to at least a portion of Amy’s estimated £10m fortune, is thought to be citing Amy’s alleged infidelity while Amy may bring up the fact that Blake apparently impregnated a fellow addict while in rehab.
